Overdraft Protection is a way to protect your checking account from returned checks, ACH drafts, and/or debit card purchases.  You can have your savings account set up as your overdraft source.  If the funds are not available in your checking account when a transaction comes through, the funds will be transferred from your savings account to pay the item.  There is a limit of six transfers per month from the savings to the checking account.

You can apply for an Overdraft Protection loan.  With the Overdraft Protection loan, the funds will be transferred from the loan to your checking account if the funds are not available when an item comes through.  There is not a fee to transfer the funds.  Interest is charged on the loan and a minimum payment will automatically be transferred at the end of each month to make the loan payment.

You can apply for the Overdraft Protection loan online, by telephone, or in any financial center.  Once you submit the application, a loan officer will contact you within 24 business hours
